With over 30 years under its belt as a work horse name for the tournament angler and weekend warrior alike, the Shimano Curado 200 M Baitcasting Reels continue this platforms history of providing exceptional performance with versatility in mind. An all new MagnumLite (MGL) III Spool featured on the Curado M provides unparalleled casting distance without any compromise to the spool's strength and durability. Tossing that frog, jig, deep diving crank, swimbait and more all while using heavy braid, fluoro, or mono just got easier, as this spool offers a lower start up inertia that works more efficiently with every cast to reach greater distances.
Technology Found in Shimano Curado 200 M Baitcasting Reels:
- Micromodule Gearing: State-of-the-art gear design makes use of smaller gear teeth and more of them, which results in a more efficient gear train and much smoother retrieve.
- X-Ship: By supporting the pinion gear on both ends with bearings, the pinion gear remains in precise alignment with the drive gear and stays in the same position under even the heaviest of loads. This eliminates friction between the spool shaft and gear which translates to better casting performance and increased gear durability.
- Hagane Body: A reel body with high rigidity, which virtually eliminates body flexing due to it's stiffness and impact resistance. The result? An angler's actions are more efficiently transformed into cranking power. It's efficiency through strength.
- CI4+: An enhanced version of the original CI4 material, this highly technical carbon material is 2.5 times stiffer than the original and is used to create weight savings on the reel.
- MGL III Spool: Further thinning the spool to decrease inertia, without sacrificing durability
- Shimano Stable Spool Design (S3D): S3D Technology utilizes a balanced and uniform thin wall aluminum spool to significantly reduce spool vibration and increase smoothness when casting and retrieving.
- SilentTune: By applying slight pressure to the bearing supporting the spool, Silent Tune reduces spool vibration during the cast which results in quieter casting and smoother spool rotation with less play.
